Jumping on the Bandwagon...

The Obamas are still on the hunt for a dog, and it looks like there is a lobby starting to encourage them to adopt a greyhound.  Their sweet temperment, athletic disposition and loyal temperment seem like a good match for the family.  A good friend (in addition to many other folks in the blogosphere) adopted one of these guys and said it was the best dog his family had ever had.

My vote is in!  Go for the Greyhound Obama-fam!

Caesar's Way?

For those of you who don't spend your lives watching Animal Planet (shame on you!), Caesar Milan is a self-titled "Dog Whisperer" who "rehabilitates dogs and trains people".  His methods are all about people relating to their dogs with calm assertive behavior to create calm submissive dogs.  His show is fascinating, and it seems like he makes amazing progress with very unruly and/or agressive dogs. I wonder if anyone out there has experience using any of Caesar's methods or thoughts on his non-traditional style?

Product Review: Buster Cube!

In the endless quest to keep Mr. Mochi happy during the day while I'm slaving away at work, I ordered the Buster Cube, and both Mochi and I couldn't be happier.  I had to take a couple of minutes to show Mochi how it works, but he caught on super fast.  Snuffing, snorting and crunching quickly ensued as he pushed it around with his cute little nose and paws to make his food fall out.  Best of all for us human-types, it's fiendishly easy to use.  Simply fill the little hole with your dog's regular food (or hard treats) shake it around a few times, and away you go! Excellent find-  highly recommended!

Kong Recipe of the Day

Courtsey of the Kong Company, today's recipe is Banana Rama.  Just mash together the following:

-one banana

-yogurt

-sprinkle of wheat germ 

You'll want to vary the amounts depending on what size kongs you use.  Freeze for at least four hours, then give to your furry friend to enjoy!
